Description：Thymic epithelial cells (TyEpiC,人胸腺上皮細(xì)胞) are major component of thymic stroma with a high degree of phenotypical and functional heterogeneity. They can be broadly categorized into cortical and medullary thymic epithelial cells. Primary thymic epithelial cells are indispensable to the thymopoeisis and stepwise development of T cells. Immature thymocytes are selected by the MHC complexes presented on thymic epithelial cell surface and become self-tolerant and functionally competent T cells. Dysfunction of thymic epithelial cells is often associated with autoimmune disease and immunodeficiency.；
